Sony Ericsson's Xperia mid segment offering, the Xperia Neo V has hit the shelves and is up for grabs. Xperia Neo V retains the same specs of it predecessor the Neo, sans the 8 Mpix Exmor snapper (You can get it from ebay.in with a 'dealer' warranty for around the same price, you'll have to ship it back to the seller in case of any troubles, but worth the risk). If you are looking for an Android phone for under Rs 18,000, this phone perfeclty makes sense.
It comes with 1 Ghz Scorpion processor on a Snapdragon chipset, sports an Adreno 205 GPU and packs a 512 MB RAM. The display is also pretty good with the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inch Multi touch LCD display (not as good as the super AMOLED plus, but good enough). The 5 Mpix camera with auto focus is not so great, but not too bad either (pictures looks stunning on the camera, but noticeable levels of noise is present). Internal memory is skimpy at 320 MB (not 32 MB, :D as advertised on letsbuy.com) but you can expand it to 32 GB (bundled: 2GB).
The phone comes with the latest Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread), Timescape UI ( not a big fan, but some people actually like it, so it is up to you) and Xperia 2.0 with facebook built into the OS (you can share stuff to facebook without installing any app). The feature I like the most is the HDMI port on the phone (no docks, no adapters, just a sweet mini HDMI port, you get a free HDMI cable too) so you can just plug it into a TV and browser, watch videos, play, everything you do on the phone (awesome). Battery is 1500 mAh, which last for 1 day on average use (perfectly normal, if you ask me).
Now the sweet deal is from letsbuy.com: Rs.16,625 /- (with shipping, after coupon: ILUVLETSBUYFB, actual price: Rs,17,500/-). You get a Jabra BT 2045 bluetooth headset free (worth 1.5k) with the purchase. (colors: blue (metallic, glossy), gray/silver and white(glossy).
